Legacies and Wills

Our short video below explains how to leave a legacy in your will to Lifespan.

Lifespan Complementary is a small charity based in the North East of England, which offers alternative care to people with terminal illness, and to their families and carers. Lifespan relies on fundraising to continue its invaluable work and Sheila Webb, Manager at Lifespan, explains what a difference leaving even a small legacy in your will can make.

Leaving a Legacy or Gift in your will

Some people choose to leave a gift in their will to support the work of Lifespan. Often they will have experienced first-hand the vital care provided by the charity, either in their own life or that of a friend or relative.

There are three types of legacy:

  • Residuary – what remains after specific bequests to others
  • Pecuniary – a fixed sum
  • Specific – a property of other named item
